Autumn in Charlotte is probably one of my favorite times of the year. Whereas some people absolutely need to live in a city that experiences all four seasons, I like to say that Charlotte is more of a 3.5 seasons kinda town. Depending on which way the wind blows (literally) you may only need a light jacket or sweater or perhaps no outerwear at all. I will say though, as I’m typing up this blog post, Hurricane Ian with his gusty winds and heavy rain, is making it’s way towards the Charlotte region. But as I said…depending on which way the wind blows.
As the Queen City shifts from summer and into the Fall season, there is no shortage of festivals, concerts and events happening in and around town. Here’s a list of things to do for October 2022 in the Charlotte and surrounding area:
Concerts:
October’s concert line-up includes some of our favorites in R&B, Pop and Country Music.
R&B Music Experience: An All-Star lineup including Monica, Tamar Braxton, Tevin Campbell, H-Town, 112 and Next. October 2nd at the Spectrum Center
An Evening with Regina Spektor : October 19 at the Belk Theatre
Lizzo The Special Tour : October 20 at the Spectrum Center
Demi Lovato: October 21 at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater
Stevie Nicks : October 22 at the PNC Music Pavilion

Fun Things to do with the Kids in Charlotte:
Hodges Family Farm is a staple to the local community. From their pumpkin patch, to farmers market – it’s a fun environment for kids of all ages.
Hickory Grove Haunted Trail: Now just hear me out on this one. I know I’ve listed this under ‘fun things to do with kids’, when we took our daughter a few years ago (she was 8) she had a blast. However, I caution you, if your little ones scare really easy…this may not be for them. Our family did this trail the year before the pandemic hit. It was our first time. The line was fairly long but it was worth the wait. We had so much fun and look forward to going again this year.
Scarowinds: Carowinds Amusement Park’s annual fall event leading into Halloween . My family has not yet been but we do know people who attend every year and really enjoy themselves.
Carolina Renaissance Festival: “Time travel to the greatest party since Camelot” . The annual Carolina Renaissance Festival open air Artisan Market is filled with arts and crafts, games and rides, jousting knights on horseback, falconry, mermaids, fairies, dragons, feasting and so much more. They are open every Saturday and Sunday (rain or shine) from 930am-530pm from October 1 – November 20.
